Over 300 primary school children in Cork City to receive introductory ukelele lessons. Students from St Maries of the Isle Primary School will receive free music lessons with thanks to the Musical Youth Foundation children’s charity.

Every child attending the school will have the chance to learn to play the ukelele. The introductory lessons will run in 4 week blocks. After which those interested will be able to sign up for a weekly after school club. Every participant will receive a ukelele starter pack, weekly lessons and access to a digital learning app.

The project will run for a minimum of 12 months and is being offered to any DEIS schools interested in bringing music education classes to their school populations.
