As Dublin’s only Rhythm and Roots Festival, we will be showcasing the finest blues, bluegrass, rockabilly and folk acts this country has to offer. Performers such as Johnny Moynihan (Planxty, Sweeney’s Men), Tom Hanway, who has shared stages with The Band, Bill Monroe and The Grateful Dead, Bill Whelan who in his life long involvement with the Irish Music scene has played with The Everly Brothers, Arlo Guthrie, Bela Fleck and Doc Watson, will be sharing the bill with newer Irish acts such as I Draw Slow, Prison Love, Gavin Glass and The Hot Sprockets.
It will be held in The Button Factory, The Workmans Club, The Grand Social, The Mercantile, Sweeney’s Bar, The Stags Headand The Dame Tavern. As well the live shows, there will also be Workshops encouraging festival goers to learn traditional instruments. Also, a City Busking Trail raising money and awareness for the Musical Youth Foundation of Ireland. All this alongside stunning visual art and the 50’s Dress Theme, will make this weekend one of fun and nostalgia for an era that had such an impact on the music of today.
