Musical Youth Foundation to receive €2,000. Boost
from Ireland’s Music Champion, IMRO!
The donation will help towards the cost of providing vulnerable children with access to life-changing music education classes
The Musical Youth Foundation, a children’s charity dedicated to providing life-changing music education to vulnerable young people, is thrilled to announce a €2,000 donation from IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation). This generous support will help launch a new music programme in Dublin’s St. Andrew’s Community Resource Centre on Pearse Street.
The programme will offer weekly music classes, including group singing, songwriting, live performance, and instrument lessons, to children from the local community. Collaborations with local musicians will further enrich the experience. The project aims to record a charity single in support of the Musical Youth Foundation.
This initiative will not only foster creativity but also provide numerous benefits, such as increased self-confidence, concentration, and social skills. Music education has been shown to improve academic performance and engagement, particularly for at-risk youth.
We’re delighted to receive IMRO’s support,” says Chris Maher, Founder and CEO of the Musical Youth Foundation. “Music education is crucial for Ireland’s future music industry and promoting music’s value in the digital age.”
This donation brings the Musical Youth Foundation one step closer to achieving its goal of making education equality a reality for Ireland’s most vulnerable young people.
