Musical Youth Rising Stars is a special project we have created which has been designed to give a young people the opportunity to showcase their musical talent, and to experience the excitement of performing live on a stage.

Musical Youth Rising Stars is a spin off event from Dublin City Soul Festival’s annual global search for the best original musicians. Much more than a music competition, Rising Stars is a celebration of great original music from real musicians and songwriters who love their craft.

Youth groups are invited to put forward a ‘Rising Star’ – a talented band or solo musician. All acts interested will be considered to play on a live stage at a music venue in Dublin City Centre with the chance of winning the title of ‘Musical Youth Rising Star’ and a slot at the Soul Picnic 2012 in Merrion Square in front of thousands of people.

Entrants must be aged between 12-19 years and a have a repertoire of a minimum of 2-3 songs. Songs do not need to be original, however original material is encouraged.
